Conveyancing/home purchase/Deceased Estate advice
5
My son (aged 26) bought his first home this year, a cash sale using money from inheritance. I approached Fiona Sephton at Lane and Lane because she had assisted me 9 years ago when I bought my home at Mooney Mooney and done an outstanding job. Fiona even turned up at my housewarming with a bottle of champagne. I was so appreciative of her caring and commitment.
I could not fault Fiona's professional approach to our requirements this time around. She had a very understanding approach to the sensitivities around our particular situation and was friendly and totally approachable at all times. She answered questions quickly and concisely and gave the impression that nothing was beyond scope.
It was regrettable that because of the pandemic lockdown we were unable to meet with her in person as I think it would have been beneficial for my son to have had things explained face to face. This not being possible, Fiona did an amazing job of keeping him well informed as well as keeping me in the loop as a safety net. The admin staff who completed all final documentation were also excellent.
Prior to this interaction (earlier in the year) I contacted and had an appointment with James Lane seeking advice around an Estate on which I was acting as sole executor. James was extremely helpful and in fact (as it turned out) saved me quite a lot of money due to the advice he gave me. There was a lot of information he was able to clarify and direct me on, which is something I badly needed at the time. I also found him extremely approachable and friendly, as well as empathetic with a situation that was causing me some stress.
I would not hesitate in using Lane and Lane again for any type of legal advice or conveyancing work. They are great, and there is a real human/family feel about the business, I find missing in so many legal firms these days. You never get the feeling with Lane and Lane that its all about dollars.
